Nawa Sira van Sluijs is a documentary filmmaker, presenter, and all-round creative. Her work focuses on providing a platform for stories that not only address social issues but also highlight the beauty and strength of personal experiences. She directed the documentaries *Ik Besta Niet* and *Mirage*, both of which explore themes such as identity and societal challenges. In addition, Nawa Sira is active as a presenter for, among others, Omroep Zwart, NTR and Radio 1, and she hosts and moderates various events and programs.
“Rooted is relevant to me because it’s relevant for everybody, I’m Tunisian/Dutch born and raised in the Netherlands. A country where I still not always feel that I’m home. And as long as I am somewhere where other people don’t feel at home, or worse don’t feel welcome, I would always fight for a place where they do feel they belong.”
