Jacqueline Kalk

Jacqueline Kalk is alderman for Inclusion and Anti-Discrimination for the municipality of Hilversum, the town that welcomes Rooted Festival this year. She recently launched Hilversum Voor Iedereen (“Hilversum for Everyone”), the municipality’s new policy paper on inclusion, built around principles like treating every resident with equal respect, curiosity as a starting point rather than judgment, and the idea “nothing about us, without us.”

At Rooted Festival, she brings that same spirit of curiosity and connection from city policy into shared experience, exploring together what it truly means to build a place where everyone belongs.
