During this workshop, we will watch the short film My father, Nour and I together. The film will be followed by an afterword moderated by Soumaya Bazi. Twenty years ago, filmmaker Wiam Al-Zabari fled Baghdad with his family in the middle of the night to the Netherlands, where his father was waiting for them. Since then, there has been no mention of it. Now that Wiam is a father himself, he is confronted with the fact that he does not know much about himself. That there are gaps in his memory and that he therefore finds it difficult to properly pass on the story about himself to his son Nour. Why did they have to flee in the first place? And what was the impact of the flight and arrival in Holland? To find out, Wiam breaks through the silence for the first time and enters into a conversation with his family.
