Sholeh Rezazadeh (1989) came to the Netherlands from Iran in 2015. Three years after her arrival, she signed a contract for her debut novel De hemel is altijd paars (2021), which was awarded the Debutantenprijs van de Maatschappij der Nederlandse Letterkunde 2022 and the Bronzen Uil Publieksprijs 2021. Her novel was also featured on the longlist of the Libris Literature Prize 2022 and the Hebban Debut Prize 2022. Over 45,000 copies of the book were sold in the Netherlands and Belgium.
Her second novel Ik ken een berg die op me wacht was published in 2023 and received: a Special Mention from The European Union Prize for Literature 2024, was nominated for the Amarte Literature Prize and also for the Nature Book Prize 2024. Neem ruim zei de zee (2024) is her poetry debut, which received several reprints within a short time.
