New to the netherlands

The workshop will be given by the team of New to the Netherlands. Yaghoub Sharhani, Madelon Stokman, Mona Boutros and Shara Gaffaf will give a masterclass for everyone interested in Dutch Media. What is unique about journalism in The Netherlands? How do you make your first steps in working as a journalist, editor, photographer or graphic designer? And how do you get to know the people you need to know?

Net in Nederland (New to the Netherlands) is the online platform of the Dutch Public Broadcaster (Nederlandse Publieke Omroep) for and by newcomers. This platform helps newcomers to find their way in Dutch society, brings stories, news and background information in Dutch, Arabic and Ukrainian. The platform has many followers on Facebook and Instagram. The journalists and editors of the team have origins in Iraq, Syria, Ukraine, Iran and The Netherlands. Additionally they also organize annual masterclasses for newcomers who are trying to find their way in the Dutch Media landscape.
