Debra Barraud is a photographer and the founder of the storytelling platform Humans of Amsterdam. Through her portraits and interviews, she captures the essence of what makes each person unique. She believes that everyone carries a story worth sharing.
While working in the Middle East as a dialogue facilitator, Debra experienced first-hand the transformative power of conversation and storytelling. When she returned to Amsterdam, inspired by Humans of New York and Humans of Tel Aviv, she launched Humans of Amsterdam. Today, the project has grown into a thriving online community of over 600,000 followers, offering a glimpse into the lives and voices of the city’s residents.
As special collaboration Debra will be present during Rooted Festival as visiting partner to portray participants to prioritize authentic, human-centered storytelling.
