Info

Rahman Jaber is a visual storyteller, designer, and photographer originally from Yemen. His work explores memory, identity, and the emotional traces of displacement—often blurring the lines between personal narrative and collective experience. Drawing from his own journey across cities, Rahman uses photography, writing, and participatory practice to uncover what we carry when we leave, and what remains behind.

“Rooting resonates with me because displacement is not only about losing a place — it’s about slowly forgetting how to belong.
As someone who left home almost a decade ago, I’ve spent years relearning how to feel grounded — not through geography, but through people, memory, and creative expression. That’s why the idea of rooting feels powerful to me: it suggests that even after being uprooted, we can plant something new in ourselves and in each other.”
